5 waves down, followed by 3 waves up, stopping at a fibonacci 61.8% retracement and the extreme of prior wave 4. Textbook EW. If the market is going down, it should start right here. I'm long SH unless we make new highs, just in case.

Is it worth signing up, or does he just want to sell you his $3,000 trading course?

Yes, this is the end of this bull market. Bear markets always follow bull markets, 100% of the time. Go to cash, buy a gun or two, buy a couple cases of your favorite whiskey and buy some silver, just in case. Wait for 2-3 years at which time a bull market will return. Rinse and repeat.

General Discussion · Why are ETF's preferred over Securities?

You will probably get more bang for your buck trading trading individual stock vs an ETF if you are limiting your holding period to 3 days. ETFs are baskets of stock, so they are more diversified which tends to dampen price movements (unleveraged ETFs tend to be less volitile). That being said, be careful holding individual stocks during earnings announcements. They can drop by a significant percentage should the company have an earnings miss.

klynn55: Please re-read my post in its entirety. Don't get me wrong, I am neither a Trump fan nor an Obama fan. The comment about Trump making us rich was sarcasm. I fully expect the market to tank sometime soon.

The market does not care who is President. I know you all like rooting for the home team and "your" guy, but the market will go where it wants when it wants to. Bear markets always (not sometimes, not most of the time, and not usually) follow bull markets. Since we are in a bull market now, you know what comes next, it's just a matter of when (and I can't say when).
Stay vigilant! You will need to bail on your buy and hold positions eventually to avoid the coming pain. Of course, you know that - that is why you are looking at charts on a daily basis. If you were a true buy and hold believer, you would buy your positions, spend your time doing something more fulfilling, and wait for Trump to make you rich!

The markets are bigger than Trump, he is just one man, and a very flawed one at that. I am getting ready to break out my human billboard sign that says "The End is Near", end of the bull market rally, that is! Look for me on a street corner very soon.

Baloney! This time is NOT different. A bear market (>20% drop) will follow this bull market as sure as night follows day. I just can't tell you when it will happen nor how deep it will be. Stay vigilant!
