Guys need some help here.

I want to place a limit buy as follows:

CONDITION
If Yesterday Low was more than 10% below close 2 days ago then buy at 92% of close price yesterday or open whichever is lower.

However, if CONDITION is not satisfied i.e. If Yesterday Low was NOT more than 10% below close 2 days ago then buy at 90% or open which ever is lower.

Please help me code this.

Thanks

Hello fellow traders,

I have a filter which gives me triggers for next day buy. I usually buy the stocks when they are below 2% from yesterday close price so this one I know how to code in SF. The one I am struggling with is if say my trigger date is Dec 3rd and on Dec 4th it only drops 1.5% so it will not be bought (on Dec 4th) by my current system but I don't want to miss such opportunities. So what I want is to buy the stock on Dec 5th if it drops more than 0.5% to make cumulative loss for 2 days over 2% from trigger date.

Is this possible to do?
Again,
Dec 3rd - Trigger date - for a stock with close price of $10
Dec 4th - Stock closed at 9.85 - only losing 1.5% (not 2% as per my current criteria)
Dec 5th the - low for the day was below 9.8 - execute my order at 9.8 (cumulative loss of > 2% from Dec 3rd)

Pls help. Thanks

Thanks.

There are so many limitations in SF that I am now giving it second thoughts. I am thinking of trying AmiBroker. Any experience with that? If so, do you think my idea will be codable on that scanner.

Why are strategies with vxx in the symlist not working correctly?

apply to symlist(vxx)
set{spy,ind(spy,close)}
vxx > vxx 1 day ago
spy > spy 1 day ago

Exit on opposite

Can you all see your backtests and their results? I cannot see any. It is empty. Wondering if that is just me or a more wide spread issue.

Thanks

Hi,

I would like to see my cross hair show value of my indicators on each candle just like it does for price (OHLC). So when I am on a candle it not only should show me OHLC price but also value of each indicator on the chart. That woudl be helpful.
Thanks

Connor's is a great guy with some excellent statistical tested results for so many strategies.

However, what I have noticed, in some of those which I have been trying to use, is that if you run it by year and analyse the results you will notice one of the following:

1) 1 or 2 years contribute significantly to the results
2) Not many trades in most years but too many in one thus results looking better
3) Impracticle to buy all triggers hence results differ
4) Some wokred better in some years than others so not very consistent
5) Trades triggered are not nicely spread out during each month of the year but mostly appear under extreme market conditions hence difficult to buy all and hold so many with DD showing big red numbers

I needed strategies which address most of the above issues (if not all). So I customized some to my needs and given the capital I have. It is working fine but just wanted people to be cognizant of the above and develop strategies and expectations.
