Did you notice that P/E ratio in stockfetcher's database is far from P/E ratio from any other financial site, for example finance.yahoo.com? and P/E ratio exists not for all stocks.
Fetcher[price above 1 and volume above 100000 and P/E above 0]

(2334 stocks)
and
Fetcher[price above 1 and volume above 100000]

(3674 stocks)

Hi !

Could someone help me to create filter which will shows stock near a round price value, like near 10usd, 15usd, 20usd etc.... I guess some variables should be used and phrases like "set" but I don't know how to use them :(

thank you in advance
Alex

Hi !
Thank you, TheRumpledOne ! Now I understand how to use "set" function, but still unable to create filter I need :(
How to overcame lack of "or" function?
for example filter
Fetcher[
set{a, 5}
set{a2, a / 100}
set{Lo5, a - a2}
set{Hi5, a + a2}

set{b, 10}
set{b2, b/100}
set{Lo10, b - b2}
set{Hi10, b + b2}

close above Lo5
close below Hi5
or
close above Lo10
close below Hi10
]

does'nt work because "or" function not working :(((((

stocktrader, I studied correlation between pre-market moves and market-hours behavior and I found some correlation! the key factor here is pre-market volume. if you interested in that info - drop me email: alex at dx200.biz
for pre/post market price changes I use data.inetats.com, I also was a paid subscriber of www.esignal.com but found no advantages of their paid service vs. free data.inetats.com

I searched internet a lot to find best sites for pre-market analising, my results:
data.inetats.com - best
www.esignal.com - also good, but cost $25/month or something
www.archipelago.com - worsest

as far as I know not all exchanges supports MOC/MOO orders. I remember I placed MOC on AMEX but same order was not accessible if I choose INET or other root.

I'm sure there is a BIG difference between practice account and real one. In practice account you don't have any emotions, while at real account you have a lot of them... from my poin of view the only way when practice account is usefull is when you trade something which has big diversification in it's nature and secured againts single bad event(missed earnings, court decision etc.)... Currently I'm paper trading ETF's because they are secured against single bad event and I'm shure they can't drop 10% or more in one day...
my 2 cents

General Discussion · back testing

Hi, guys!
I'd like to ask about "back testing".. I'm not satisfied with "back testing" technique wich used on SF, on SF I can only "back test" filter for one given period of time. For example: I need to test filter
Fetcher[RSI(15) is below 30 and RSI(10) is below 30 and RSI(5) is below 30 and price dropped more than 15% for 1 day and price above 1 and volume above 20000 and data offset is 5]

, at SF I can only test it for last 5 days, but if I want to check filter performance
one month ago I can do it only manually. I'd like to find possibility to "scan" whole year with this filter, calculate performance, then divide value for number of days and get average performance for given filter for given data offset for last year. Is there any possibility to do it with StockFetcher?
If no, may be someone knows some web service with stock database which allows to write scripts with querys like "scan last 365 days for filter "bla-bla-bla" with data offset 5 days then divide value for 365" ? If it is possible some way then it is a great tool to check real average filter performace, to compare filters and find best one not only for last 5 days, but to get average value with several hundreds or even thousands querys !!!
any suggestions welcome
thanx in advance
Alex
