SF has ascending and decending triangle breakout and breakdown available. Has anyone had any success using these filters?

You posted, "The Most Powerful Desktop Financial Portal Available On The web

I downloaded it, but I can't find the screener you mentioned, with FA and TA indicators. Can you help?

Anyone here trade Candles? If so, which is your most successful bullish and bearish candlestick pattern?

I want to build a watchlist with stocks found by various short filters, but I want to use stocks found on May 15, 2006, and the program will no longer allow date offsets in the saved filters. I am wondering if anyone knows how to do this.

I thought possibly the offset date could be in a global filter that would only apply to those filters that I wanted in the watchlist.

Can anyone help?

Filter Exchange · Searching?

When I do a search for a topic or a member's posts they come all mixed up chronologically. Is there any way to sort the finds by date like they use to come? I do not see any improvement in this new way of sorting. Why did they improve a good thing???

I am searching for MP's original RSIWRL formula and I get a bazillion formulas by TheRumpledon and improvements. Since I can't sort by date I have no way of knowing whether he has a more current improvement.

Also I am searching for A/D, so I can add it to my RSIWRL scan in SF, but I guess it has not been invented. I have it on my Prophetnet, charts, but often it is high when the rest of the indicators are at the bottom.

Is there a way that a Watchlist can be used in a backtest? Or is there a way that a watchlist can be added into a filter, so it would only pull up the stocks from a watchlist?

I have a watchlist with my favorites in it and I have it linked to a Muddy filter. I can do a date offset to see what the filter has done since a particular date, but how do I do a backtest using the watchlist from a specific date?

How would I limit the selections to just those stocks listed in the Russell 2000 small caps, or the IWM exchange traded funds? I have added "and exchange is Russell 2000"; also, "and exchange is IWM"; also, "and exchange is ^RUT" but they do not work.

Noah,

I modified your filter as:

Fetcher [Show stocks where high reached a new 2 year high within the last 8 weeks and Show stocks where Close gained more than 100 percent over the last 6 months and close between .5 and 10 and average volume(90) above 100000 and volume above average volume(90)]

In PN I added the SAR, MACD (as you rec) and MA5, and I use the Russel 2000 ($RUT), because it want small cap stocks. Often SAR, MACD and price > MA5 all happen at the same time. Check what happens to the stocks that SF brings up for the first 5 days when the indicators all agree. Just add, "and date offset is 5", to the filter. Also, 4, 3, 2, and 1. After 6 or 7 days the results are not as positive, but if you buy the first 5 stocks the returns are unbelievable.

If you wanted to also play the short signals you would need to use prices above $5.

I'm excited.

Thanks,

Dick

How do you write a filter for %Chg above 2?
