13th, my prior post may not be clear. Sorry! I would like to know what you do if a stock goes up at the open and does not trade below the open. Does it make sense to trade it long even though it is not going from red to green? Thank you.

13th,
In #3 below you said that you often trade off the open if stock goes green to red or red to green. What do you do if stock opens above previous close and stays above previous close? Would it be okay to buy stock that has only run up 1-2% if it has ADR(30) of 8-9%? I appreciate your thoughts. Ron(another newbie).

Hi Max

1. When I do use time frame bars I use 5 min bars in conjunction with the sma 10 min/sma 60 min cross.
To see an example of this with FTWR please go to the thread "post your live trades here" page 95.

2. No I do not wait for the close of the bar because in 5 mins some of these can move 3%+ in that time.

3.I often trade right off the open if a stock goes green to red or red to green.
The time of day is irrelevant to me.

On SF charts white(hollow) candle = stock close above open

red(filled) candle = stock close lower than open

What does a black candle mean?

Also, some threads say "wait for the green". Does this mean wait for a green candle (high of the day) before entering a trade? Thank you for answering these questions.

@mahkoh, As of 8/11 there are 21 results for your watchlist(Zscore) filter. How do you determine which stocks to buy? Just start with the top stock listed and work your way down the list?

I know that it will take a lot of practice and mistakes in order to learn to spot "catching the trend on a pullback on uptrending stocks". Any suggestions on what common mistakes to avoid and what to look out for? I am trying to shorten my learning curve by using SF member experience. Thank you for your input.

dgkaufman, There are six Connors High Probability ETF Strategy filters. Do you use one of the six filters or the Composite Long Filter?
