Hi: Here is what I use. After I find stocks with this filter I use the Early Warning System from Swing•Genie to target exact entry postions.

Show stocks where MACD fast line(6,12,3) is below MACD slow line(6,12,3)
/* and average price (2) * average volume (2) > 500000
and average price (10) * average volume (10) > 500000 */
and RSI(10) crossed above 30 within the last 1 day
and RSI(10) is above RSI(10) 2 days ago

I realize that this is self-serving, but I created a moving filter that utilized three lengths of the center of gravity (COG) filter, combined using passband filters as the input for an ALMA filter. The resulting filter is being utilized by a large number of subscribers because it excels at signaling confirmed tops and bottoms. You can find information on the process and the indicators at If you have any question please send them to Michael

If Varb5 and Varb6 are true count = 1
I want to be able to count the past 9 days for this condition and show stocks where the count value is greater than 9 for the past 10 days?

Thanks for the assistance. Greatly appreciated. Michael

set{Varb1, 0.95}
set{Varb2, high - low}
set{Varb3, high - Varb1}
set{Varb4, Varb2 * Varb3}
set{Varb5, Open >= Varb4}
set{Varb6, Close >= Varb4}

Hi, tomm1111:

I found a filter coded by you that has some general similarities to my ultimate goal.

I am attempting to a run a filter against:

and herein lies my problem:

a list of stocks ranked by the strongest stocks within the industry within the strongest sector.

I have the SF code for determining which sector is the strongest by using EFT's to substitute for each segment.

Would you be willing to take a look at this? Glad to provide you with a few months of membership to my stock indicators on Tradingview.

Please email me at:

Thanks, Michael

I have a couple of filters that I would like to use to screen a watchlist that would be populated by the results of the - Best Performing Industry within Best Performing Sector? I have been looking at this for a couple of days and it seems the best way to approach the problem would be to determine which EFT's that represented each element from within each category was performing the best in relationship to all of the others.

Thanks Michael

I would appreciate some assistance with the following filter.
It is designed to return a result from "score" of 0 to 100 based on how close the close of the days is to the high of the day.
Close = High = 100
Close = Low = 0

Several strange things are occurring. If I remove all limiting requirements (show stocks were close > close 1 day ago
and score > 50 ) it only returns about 100 stocks instead of providing closing score for all equities.

There must be some wrong in my logic or syntax?

Greatly appreciate some help.

Thanks Michael

set {score1, High - Low}
set {score2, score1 / 100}
set {score3, Close - Low}
set {score4, score3 / score2}
set {score, score4 - score2}

add column score1
add column score2
add column score3
add column score4
add column score

show stocks were close > close 1 day ago
and score > 50

Yes, I was actually trying to get an excel function out of excel and into SF.

I was hoping that someone had tricked this out.

Can someone provide me with the correct format to accomplish the following?

I want to assign values to the following percentages derived from the difference between the High of the day and the Close of the Day.

I want to assign the value of: "5" if the resulting % is less than .25%
of: "4" if the resulting % is less than .50%
of: "3" if the resulting % is less than 1%
of: "2" if the resulting % is less than 2%
of: "1" if the resulting % is less than 3.5%
of: "0" if the resulting % is greater than 3.5%.

Thanks, Michael

General Discussion · Filter that check Up Days Vol greater than Down Days
msg #105427
3/13/2012 10:03:19 PM

Thanks Kevin:

I recently read that socks trending up show increased Vol on Up days as opposed to Down days.

Using the sum to compare the two give me an overview not unlike +DI vs -DI but what I wanted to accomplish was to utilize this filter in a Watch List to confirm that this was in fact taking place by a filter match.

The problem sounds simple but when you start to break it down and analyze it to produce a Yes/No answer it becomes a little more difficult.
