There goes the Bit Coin trading. Too early to take that industry seriously? Most people are trying to get their heads around that new industry. With Bit Coin being questionable about the validity where the money is going to support the cyber currency is real and scary at the same time. Much like any new entity trying to gain a foot hold into a legitimate currency option in purchasing, investing, and saving. But, it’s sad it affects the general market as it does. It shows how its working its way into our financial systems and overall business setting.

Why would the market be ripe for a major correction when we see the Democrats run Congress and they have flooded the market with plenty of “go” money for market expansion?

In fact, they will be approving yet another stimulus package for infrastructure and many other pet projects. Plus, with many states getting their people back to work in a more normal fashion it should mean our markets should stay healthy. Perhaps a “pause and refresh” to the market wouldn’t be such a bad idea to help sustain the markets in a good way.

Unless Biden and his administration begins raising corporate taxes too high too soon, and fails to fix the border immigrant problem then we would see our markets drop to recession levels. What with the next elections coming up for Congressional seats I have doubts Biden’s administration wants to chance it and instead try hard to keep the economy from failing.

Nibor100, I was referring to After-Hours / Pre-Market as the same thing. Any action after the market closes after a normal trading day.

And MikeTranz, thank you for that heads-up about SPY in buying at the end of the day (regular hours) then sell SPY at the open of the next day. Sounds interesting. I will have to watch it first to see its consistency.

Yes, I have seen the “opposite” effect with much consistency in the many stocks I have been looking at on the close of the after-market action then seeing it go opposite of that when opening the next day. Not sure if my eyes were playing games with me or if this was something to seriously look at. And all we want to do is find a way to make money :-)

280 to 290. Zoom will now be a solid “oversold” stock. Then if all goes well it could rise as high as 420 if it trends upward like graphing shows, into an “overbought” level.

Is my assumption correct on this observation, on a specific stock as it gets worked in the “after-market” where this stock ends in that day’s “after-market” higher than it closed in the regular market session it most often starts the next day higher in it’s next day’s pricing?

Another words, each day on average the stock pricing for stocks that do “after-market” activity begins its day pricing opposite of what its “after-market” pricing ended up with?

I don’t believe I have seen any filter here in SF that can truly show rounded bottoms. I know I have seen at least one site, not SF, that showed pattern filters that would show a rounded bottom. I just can not remember what site that was now. I guess my age is getting the better of me.

I hear you too Red, I used to use the IBD rule of staying in until you hit a 8% drop in your initial buy point. That 8% drop turned into more than that. Then when it finally wanted to go up it took forever to cover the loss just to get into positive territory. It’s why with my trading strategy I use the 2%- 2 1/2% drop rule. All because I know shortly that stock will turn upward into a nice gain. Less time to wait for it is good. Or, obviously you can buy down in increments until the stock rears up and begins its Northward movement. All depends on the money you have to work with and the patience in believing why you bought that stock in the first place. No one will be 100% correct on stock picking but, you need your filter’s success rate in the 80% and higher. Backtest how you can until you find the filter(s) that give you that.

MikeT, I’m like you in getting out as soon as my trade drops. But, I get out when my initial entry price drops 2-2.5%. Since I am a short to mid term trader this rule works for me. Since I’m a Trend trader this makes sense.

If not, they should. Throw Apple and Amazon in there too. Let’s give them their dark days of who controls them. If we all unplugged them, it certainly would hurt them in the old wallet pretty good. It might make them think twice before censoring people and a Party.
