stockfetcher, can you confirm the documentation for the count command is correct?
Does it only use daily data?

Thanks.
jeff

While reading the user guide I noticed an issue with this filter and its use of the count command.

This filter uses weekly data BUT the count command only uses DAILY data.

count(Long_Profit > .04 , 52)

This would be looking at the last 52 days and NOT THE LAST 52 WEEKS!

Is there a way to make count use weekly data? Can this be done another way?

Thanks!

As long as we are talking about adding data, I would really like to see intra-day data.
This would be very useful in doing analysis with multiple bracket orders so I can tell which ones fire in what order. I had to ask!

Thanks

I think you should focus on taking to heart the valuable suggestions made my numerous members to improve the programming language and save the GUI for LAST.
1. Better control flow statements. (if, then, else, case, while, do, etc.)
2. Use real assignment statements that can use multiple variables and ditch the set commend.
3. Give us a include statement like a real language.

I second all of what Kevin said.

Thanks!
Jeff

mahkoh: When you see a profit target and stop loss hit in the same week, you can tell which one was hit first by looking at the daily historical data. That usually breaks the tie. On the rare case that doesnt solve the mystery, you will need to look the intra day data.

I found this Crock Pot filter some time back and paper traded it. You have to manually back test this but its worth the effort.
I started trading this system live in my 401k using ETFs and a profit target of 2%. Not greedy but I always hit my targets on the first day or the 2nd day. 2+% per week gain in my retirement account isnt to shabby.
For example, today during the DOW dropping 1000 points I made 3.56% on DUST in 15 min. I made 2% on two others at the same time.
I usually just buy 4 positions at the open on Monday morning, enter my limit orders and im done for the week with this strategy.
Thanks to all those that posted in the various threads about this filter!!
Happy trading!

jrbikes:
I am using the ol penny strategy, 9 18 27 simple MA's, 1 year monthly, 1 year weekly, and 6 month daily, and 3 month daily, for longer time frame analysis, with 60 minute, 10 minute, and 5 minute intraday!

Can you explain what the penny strategy is?

mahkoh,
That's fine, but I would rather have my strategy compute the position size and place the trade for me.
What position sizing algorithms do you consider usable?

Jeff
