I have a dual boot home computer (also running unix, Fedora)...
When I boot with unix I can use the old Stockfetcher interface.
It must "sense" something not present in unix that is in windows.

Along those lines.....could we have something in our user profile or settings
allowing us to select the old or new interface?

From the HOME PAGE when I choose to "create filter" ( selection above filter builder)
The thin horizontal bar does not appear as it does for approx 1 second as it should.

In the upper left is the "spinning whirlygig" ...it appears to be attempting to execute code.

The progress bar at the bottom has a green left edge but is not advancing.

I never get the the two filter builder boxes. I walked away for 5 minutes at least and no
change.

Also,
I can execute saved filters and get results but I do not get the "boxes"
to change or modify these filters.

There are no error messages of any kind.

I would never imply that I would ever use Stockfetcher at any Forune500 company ,
or any smaller company for that matter , where bandwidth, firewalls, security measures could be the cause of this.
Actually, if anyone asks..... it is a friend of mine that is having this problem.....not me.

SF:
Please allow an option to use the old interface.
I use SF on two computers..
The new menus will not display on one of the computers. It is fine on my home computer.

For example I cannot "create filters"
I am sure it is a security filter on the computer that is not allowing your program to execute.
I cant change that.
I will have to cancel my subscription shortly if I cant use your "old" interface.

Thanks.

Kevin has done great work along these lines with Zscore16.
Levamit has come up system with great potential.
Others too.

JudgeTrade was a trader/ poster that I have found on these forums...he had experience trading these types of
systems( he was more of a 1-3 dollar range "Rsi(2) guy" ) You can do a search on him if you like.....interesting.

Nice filter,

I added an entry condition to not trade when market is falling hard.
Not always good for a revert to mean strategy as you know.
Less trades = less money and volatility is good but....it is FIT to test well for 2011.

Maybe for an exit try the ma(5) or something like:

"linear regression slope(3) > 0 and
linear regression slope(3) below linear regression slope(3) 1 day ago"
but... now you may need to break it with a stop loss

" if you could buy in at some kind of 10,30,or 90 day low reversal, hold till it hits a 10,30,or 90 day high"

Stockfetcher and stratasearch reject the above enty and exit conditions.....and I am not happy with this.
I have e-mailed both parties and futher requested that they accept " buy low and sell high" as input/output
conditions.

Presently I pay for two EOD data backtesting services "stockfetcher" and "stratasearch".

I would realy like intraday bars for testing strategies........ 5 or 15 or 30 minute bars.......something please....( delayed would be fine with me)

Will this ever be a feature of stockfetcher?

"you probably could build a method around seeking alpha articles"

That is soooo not what I meant and a fools game in my opinion.....Klynn, maybe watching for the
Mad Money Cramer effect for stocks to trade the next day would be a similar method.....
Good Luck.....

I have a shameless plug for somenone I regularly read on Seekingalpha.com.......Phil Davis.
What I have learned from him ( and still am) is using options....spreads..... for hedeging/insurance
when putting on a positions in say the sp500 or Crude. His playbook is limited(not 50 stocks and indicators)
He moves fast and seems to start his day at about 3AM.....I dont pay for his service......his 1600 articles( delayed)
is the type of reading I enjoy rather than books.
I would have to say that he can trade and makes money....and ....I am not alone in that assessment.
I only say this to maybe help others as I have nothing to gain from this plug.
