Oh for chrissake you guys...I am away for a coupla months enjoying my central american holiday and return to the forum to find it has turned into something I could be reading in Yahoo!

WSG, I think everyone who has read half a post of M4M knows he is 90% bs, but most of us get a kick out of reading them anyway. This thread of yours, valiant as it may be, reads something a bit painful... Thanks for looking out for us but regardless of what his numbers are, I donīt need ya to tell me M4M is usually full of it. And certainly not with such a harsh attitude.

So, hopefully that is all over with and we can get back to discussing more important topics...like the fact a butterfly consists of neither butter nor a fly.

Discuss.

Hey Trendsurfer,

I have held SDS on and off for the last six months. I like the idea of a double the inverse etf, but have found that SDS often fails to deliver. On some days the fund did the opposite of what it should have, falling when the s&p declined for the day. On others, it should have had a 2% move in the black and didn't even match the s&p. No thanks...too unpredictable in a predictable market. I am out of the ultra funds.

My $$ is pretty safe with gld, uso (I hope) and FRO (cause ya gotta love 15% divy!) I will get back into trading when the bull market returns.

Yeah, actually that is my number one. You can't make money if you don't buy low and sell high.

Still a relative novice here (and will probably feel that way even after decades of trading), so I have to ask. When I look at Level II quotes, especially after hours, I sometimes see bids for a penny and asks for hundreds of thousands for a stock trading in its forties or fifties. Is this in hopes of scooping up a bundle of shares or selling by taking advantage of Iggy Ignoramus if he makes some sort of mistake placing an order? Is it like the Price is Right where, if I bid two cents, I would get the trade before Mr. Slick and his penny scam?

yup yup. It's hedging against the dollar and gaining 12% apy. Sounds pretty good with the fed cutting rates like truants cutting class.

Whycome you can use indicators on charts for every stock known to stockfetcher but not charts of indicies? I would love to put a moving average on ^spx or ^dji but can't. Why the difference?

Have you guys ever found such a "sure" bet that you thought about taking out a loan to invest it in a higher return?

I am in that situation now...if you could get a loan charging 6-8% interest and invest it in a rock-solid sumpthin that pays 12%, would you? It sounds too good to be true but I can find no fault in it. What do you guys think?

Geezuz...does anyone actually trade according to every one of those rules? There are so many that, added up, you couldn't make any kind of trade without violating another rule! And what about the one I see all the time that says, "Don't listen to what other people tell you"?

Here is what I want to see...I want the top three most important rules for trading stocks, period. If a trader was to throw all the rules up in the air, which three would have the most weight and hit the ground first?
