Filter Exchange · Darvas Breakout/Breakdown

For the Darvas Box theory fans. Should show stocks that have broken out of a darvas box. Stops are placed at edge of last box and moved after new box is established. Of course new box is established after a new top and new bottom are formed. I added a 52 week high column. I suggest adding a volume column as well. I would suggest watching for 52 week high/All time high stocks with 100%+ increases in volume. I also added a breakdown box filter as well for shorts. Any mods to improve these would be greatly appreciated.

Breakout:
Fetcher[set{dt1, darvas top 1 day ago}
set{db1, darvas bottom 1 day ago}
show stocks where
close > dt1
dt1 > db1
close above 1
average volume > 250000
volume > 250000
and market not otcbb
and draw darvas box
and draw ma(50)
add column days(price reached new 52 week high, 1) {52wkh}
add column dt1
add column db1
sort by column 5 desc
]

Breakdown
Fetcher[set{dt1, darvas top 1 day ago}
set{db1, darvas bottom 1 day ago}
show stocks where
close < db1
dt1 > db1
close above 5
average volume > 50000
volume > 50000
and market not otcbb
and draw darvas box
and draw ma(50)
add column days(price reached new 52 week low, 1) {52wkl}
add column dt1
add column db1

The details are changed, but the same general tactics are employed year after year. The lambs never learn to buy stocks when everything looks darkest. They never learn that a bull campaign begins in gloom and ends in glory.

Those last 2 sentences really hit it home, dont they?

If you do set one up on investopedia - make sure you allow options and penny stocks in the rules. Would be fun to see rsi(2) in action and some of my exotic options plays. But im totally game!

This will give you a list of stocks that have had an absolute beating. The word "abused" doesn't even begin to describe the horrors that lurk in this list.
Its default sort is by the 1 Year Low Count with is a count of how many times it hit a new 1 year low. 1MnLCnt is count of how many lows in a month. 1WkLCnt low counts in a week. Then these figures are averaged over 400 days. Sort by the MAs to give stocks that most likely will give you most lows per week or month or year lol. Brutal. Great short potentials/puts contracts in here I shorted BBI down to 4 and low and behold he's right up at the top. Funny thing is (or sad) that you can go to any of these stocks forums and they are all saying "Great buying opp!" LOL. They said that about BBI all the way down to 4.

Warning. These stocks are not "Blood in the streets" or wait for green. They are just pure losers plain and simple. So be very careful on the fills.

Fetcher[set{1YrLCnt, count(close reached a new 1 Year Low,100) }
set{1MnLCnt, count(close reached a new 1 Month Low,30) }

Sort by z to get smallest to largest consolidation. If you want smaller or larger timeframe then adjust line 1,12 and 13 to something else. Price to z ratio is how far the current price is from the top or bottom of the channel...

Fetcher[set{x,high 4 week high}
set{y,low 4 week low}
set{z,x - y}

/* Price to Z Ratio*/
set{hc, close - x }
set{hcc, hc / x }
set{c2hr, hcc * 100}

set{x16,high 16 week high}
set{y16,low 16 week low}
set{z16,x16 - y16}

and high is below x for last 4 weeks
and low is above y for last 4 weeks

and volume(90) above 50000
and close above 2
add column x
add column y
add column z
add column z16
add column c2hr
do not draw x
do not draw y
do not draw z
do not draw z16
do not draw bollinger bands
do not draw Linear Regression Channel(60,1.0)

Another way to skin a cat: add the traders averages and the investors averages and then create a custom average of the trend. Ok sort by the TREND column and you want this as close to zero as you can get with the CMATREND being as big as you can get. Adjust the trend range and the CMA length to your needs.

Fetcher[set{t1, ema(3) + ema(5)}

set{i4, i3 + ema(50)}
set{investors, i4 + ema(60)}
set{trend, traders - investors}
set{cmatrend, cema(trend, 20)}

I suppose you could alter the above filter to find ratios outside the range to find the stocks that have had MAJOR moves up OR down and are ready to start converging again back. Not really a bearish or bullish filter but a nice filter to show stocks that COULD move from the tight ranges to the large ranges and vice-versa.

Ok here is a start of a filter for converging emas - if anyone wants to pick up on it go for it. Its basically a bunch of ema ratios and I confined them as you can see and tweak. Set a tighter range for an interesting list. Not sure what to make of this yet.

Fetcher[/* Set up the ratios */
set{r3.60a, ema(3) - ema(60)}
set{r3.60b, r3.60a / ema(60)}
set{r3.60, r3.60b * 100}
set{r5.50a, ema(5) - ema(50)}
set{r5.50b, r5.50a / ema(50)}
set{r5.50, r5.50b * 100}
set{r8.45a, ema(8) - ema(45)}
set{r8.45b, r8.45a / ema(45)}
set{r8.45, r8.45b * 100}
set{r10.40a, ema(10) - ema(40)}
set{r10.40b, r10.40a / ema(40)}
set{r10.40, r10.40b * 100}

set{r15.30a, ema(15) - ema(30)}
set{r15.30b, r15.30a / ema(30)}
set{r15.30, r15.30b * 100}

This is pretty cool - Not really a filter but gives a graphical picture of what you guys are saying:

Fetcher[draw ema(3) draw ema(5) draw ema(8) draw ema(10) draw ema(12) draw ema(15)
draw ema(30) draw ema(35) draw ema(40) draw ema(45) draw ema(50) draw ema(60)
Average Volume(90) above 100000
Volume above 150000
Close above 12
not otcbb
]

Next will be to set up the ratio calculations
