Who cares what DMA is the fact of the matter is that it works. It worked when I bought TEX at 41 and am almost up 100 percent on it just a few months later. 300K in gains for sitting on my ass on that stock alone with 10 dollars in commisssion costs! Entered with DMA just as Riggs taught. Equity price at least three percent below DMA, when DMA turns horizontal put your finger on the trigger, as soon as DMA starts to ascend from there pull the trigger!

Tex has been in an uptrend since the middle of 2005. It would seem to be a pretty good bet to jump onto an uptending stock.

I would think the DMA14 flat/3% above true price would be a nice trick for a reversal. A downtrending stock switching to an uptrend.

nikoschopen,
You have stated previously that you use the Keltner Channels. They fall into the general class of envelope indicators, of which there are several. One side is over sold, and the other overbought. Why the Keltner Channels vs other channels, moving average envelope, n day price channel, Woods Float Channel, etc.
How do you play the channel, and the center line, especially together with the DMA (28,-14). Displacing it back that far I would think would not give predictive value. What do you think of displacing it forward, and if so how much.

Muddy,
I have looked up your filters in the public filter area under author: Murknd. I have accessed your web site, and you list twenty stocks, and you credit a stockfetcher filter and of those 13 were winners. What filter did you use of those listed. You also mention entering on green. I have done a search of the forum, and I can not find it. What does enter on green mean. You talk of a red day and green day. I presume that means dow up, dow down. Does enter on green mean dow up day.
For those who find it hard to place trades at work, and it easier the night before, any suggestions? What do you think of buy stops. With Scottrade, it is a .15 difference between close and stop. If it goes in the direction away from the stop, no harm done. Depending on the price of the stock, .15 can be a big move.
Do you short stocks. I would think it might be easier to find stocks going south than north sometimes. What screen would you suggest for those.

Muddy,
I stand corrected. I have fooled around a fair amount with political forums, and that group can be testy. I have followed other forums such as elite trader, not participating in discussion, but where there seems to be hostility of the experienced to the nonexperienced, or whatever. I admire your skills, and as a boy, I thought it would be neat to be a stockbroker. Alas, that did not happen, but I have had a successful career elsewhere. A little over a year ago, I thought maybe I could do both to some degree, and so I have frequented forums such at ET and here, and checked out software, but did not post, because I really had nothing to add. Thank you for the information, and I will research your past posts.
Nick,
Thanks again for the information. I can understand that the closer you get to the action, daytrading, the more nimble you are. All you have to do is keep out of the way of falling trees as they fall.

Muddy,
You might be very successful as a trader, but the sarcasm oveshadows it.

nikoschopen,
Thanks for the response. What type of software do you use, Tradestation? How large a transaction might you use. What futures do you trade. Essentially stockfetcher is probably not something you use. Do you like TRO not trade in the first half hour of the day. How did you learn your trade. Where do you go to socialize with other day traders.
As far as a turning point, this market has defied most expectations, but history does tend to repeat.

nikoschopen,
Just curioius about daytrading. I had heard that daytrading was a sure way of going to poor house. How do you trade, time of day, indicators if any, choice of stock or whatever you trade. Evidently, you are not in the poor house, so any hints?

Possibly like I said, April 15, and now with a second top. But who knows.

I think he might have been referring to 1867 matches as not narrowing the field enough.

Genius,
Thanks for your input. We have been waiting for your return, and your wisdom. Is there any thought as to where the market is going and how long it will take to get there. It is too bad that you can not post charts on Stockfetcher forum, it would be interesting to get your take on some of them. They can be confusing, long term, short term, they all have their advantages and disadvantages.
