Actually not bad - 3% gain over the last two months without significant risk since each position is hedged against sudden movements. Here I am simply tracking these without rebalancing - some folks have commented that rebalancing would better manage risk. I agree and will rebalance any pair that has moved more than 20% (e.g., DRIP/GUSH, GASL/GASX).

More follow up later tonight - currently the net gain on this approach is at $2,554 - barely moved since last month, but was as high as $3,400 or so until the last week or so. This approach might be even better with periodic rebalancing once a pair gets too lopsided.

Monthly update - all shorts are up a collective $2099.88 (2.6%) after 4 months, versus a 4.3% gain for the SPY. Not really rocking the house here. Basically you are making next to nothing. This could be a good strategy for a choppy or down market, but right now it is underperforming.
