Rolled out of XIV too soon. Given the size of the trade I did not want to get caught by surprise while on vacation, but even with the market dropping almost every day XIV continues to gain.
I now plan to wait until after the March Fed meeting and re-enter this trade at the same dollar value as long as the contango level for the VIX is above 5% and it is also above the contango level for VXV. Roll yield must also be above 5% for all primary signals to be green.
I'm sure some d-bag will try to claim credit for this strategy as well.

Wouldn't short TVIX (or rather UVXY when using IB's commission structure) be the preferred trade here?
