so confusing. all I am seeing in other indicators is that gold is going up through mid February at least. but you point out a good reason why that wont happen.

If you trade these commodities you have to track USD/CAD. USD/CAD broke a long term trendline yesterday thus the pop in commodities, today we're back over that trendline(news driven shakeout to take out stops). It needed to hold 1.3174 on monthly and so far today it's holding.

JP when you take down a more expensive equity (FB) do you do it with cash or some form of call option?

I use cash, using insurance(options) is definitely a better play. With these sideways market I'm only scalping, usually about 10-20 trades before I start my job as an analytical chemist.
