df0000

I'm not sure I understand what you are saying. Are you limiting yourself to trading ETF's? My recollection is that Connors used only ETF's but that Kevin used stocks with good results. His backtests showed that stocks work fine.

It has been several years since I read my last Connors book and quite a while since I read all of this thread so I am not disputing your point, just asking for clarification. If you are just using ETF's, have you considered or backtested using stocks too?

The back test data I provided in this thread uses only the 20 ETFs from Connors' book, to make sure that I was comparing apples to apples. It works as well with stocks, which I think I posted in another thread.

This was designed to let people evaluate Connors' strategies moving forward in real time, rather than just taking his older data as gospel.

kevin he got most of the stuff he used to develope this system from me in 2002- the main guy at tradingmarket bryce wrightman- there office was in LA and i lived on the high desert in apple valley ca- he came to my house and spent the weekend- i showed him about the rsi 2 and my volatilty indicator- i was suppose to come to la to explain all this to larry connors and their top ta and trading guys- i was suppose to get a a disclose agreement but i never heard from bryce from bryce again- next thing i knew was in 2006 they come out with the power rating system mostly based on what i gave them in 2002--here you can see one of my reco post near the market bottom in 2002 for sbac for 0.21 -it later went to 43$

I already did, lerogee777! 22-Nov-02 12:57 am

Kevin,

Thanks for the clarification. I knew I had seen Connors' filters backtested by you using stocks somewhere but I obviously was mistaken about which thread.

I have a couple of friends who are considering buying software that is set up for these Connors strategies but i really don't see any reason to pay after all this work you have so generously donated.

Thanks - I would suggest to your friends that they join SF instead.

NOTE: Connors does have a number of other systems as well that are not included here. I have seen folks here at SF do a great job of trading them, as long as they stick to the basic rules.

Jeez, look at the equity summary, NOT the ROI.

Equity Summary
Starting Account Value: $100,000.00 Fees per trade: $8.95
Ending Account Value: $99,729.36. Cash: $95,446.79 Market value of holdings at end: $4,282.57 (paid: $4,142.85)

Unrealized gain/loss: $139.72.

You lost money after commissions. Do not pay any attention to the ROI - it is fictitious. All that matters is the starting and ending equity.

The reason is you are not betting enough per trade to make this system profitable...

if you use money management you should not risk more than 5% on any one trade... not your trade size is only 5% of your bank.

Try it with only 1 trade open and see what happens.. so you would bet 100% of your bank every time and compound the winning stop loss is 5%. and run it.
